District heating means to half the consumption of primary energy and therefore produce only half of the pollutant emission. The district heating consumer contributes considerably to the protection of the climate. The biggest part of district heating is a pure product. With the so called CHP (combined heat and power) heat is derived parallel to the power generation and can be forwarded through a separately laid net (district heating net) directly to the customer. Because of the high part derived from CHP-energy (90%) the district heat is ecological and very efficient. Apart from the economic point of view, much more could be done for the protection of the climate.
